Frutta Bowls provided my family with their product in exchange for this post and my honest feedback and opinions. The opinions I share about Frutta Bowls are my own and Frutta Bowls did not tell me what to say or how to say it. frutta bowls marlton new jersey family friendly dining south jersey family smoothies fruit bowls

This is totally a good thing! While the kids are getting exercise, they’re also getting worn out (which *should* make for an easier bedtime?). But, you know what? This means they’re also getting hungry. I can’t speak for moms of girls, but, as a boy mom, I can tell you that my boys are constantly hungry. Like they’re asking what’s for dinner WHILE they’re eating lunch. Right?! Craziness. Anyways, it can be tough to get kids to eat healthy, so, when the boys and I got the opportunity to try Frutta Bowls in Marlton, I was super excited! I couldn’t wait to try out a healthy option for a snack and we’re always up to discovering family-friendly dining options!

The boys and I stopped by Frutta Bowls on a weekday afternoon. The Marlton location is conveniently located in The Promenade at Sagemore (a shopping center where I could very EASILY spend a few hours shopping) and I easily found a nearby parking space. I need to mention that this ability to find a close parking space was a very good thing for the boys because, somehow they could spend hours running around a playground, but they are never interested in walking far from a parking spot to a store. Go figure. That was a win for us, though!

The inside of Frutta Bowls is pretty fun! There’s an eclectic mix of textures that end up working very well together: wood grain counter front, concrete counter tops, awesome chalkboard and wood walls. All of the elements come together for a very artsy and comfortable atmosphere. The boys found our dining area before we even ordered: a set of two small sofas with a coffee table in between. On that table was a set of Jenga Tiles and a Connect Four game! Just like they had enjoyed Connect Four at Peachwave, they’d get to enjoy it again at Frutta Bowls. I gotta tell you, I totally appreciate when businesses go out of their way to add an unexpected family-friendly experience element to their location.

Frutta Bowls has a menu that consists of Acai Bowls, Pitaya Bowls, Kale Bowls, Toast, Hot Oatmeal Bowls,Smoothies, and Organic Coffee. As a first-time visitor, the options were a little overwhelming, but we were able to make decisions pretty quickly. The boys each decided on Chocolate Explosion Smoothies (Chocolate Whey Protein, Banana, Nutella, Peanut Butter, Almond Milk) which I considered to be an excellent choice since they’d be able to easily drink their smoothies AND play the provided games at the same time. I ended up choosing to try their Hulk Bowl (Vanilla Whey Protein, Kale, Banana, Pineapple, Almond Milk Toppings: Granola, Mango, Strawberry, Blueberry, Honey, Peanut Butter).

After I placed the orders, the boys went right back to their seats to play Jenga. I noticed that our order was listed on a tv screen by the counter and had up-to-date information on the progress of our order. Pretty cool! I loved that Frutta Bowls has the “open kitchen” design so that diners can watch their food be prepared. The boys were focused on their game, but I enjoyed watching everything be made (self-confessing Food Network Channel lover right here!). Our orders were made very quickly and set on the counter as an employee called out my name to announce the order’s completion. So the boys could get started, I picked up the smoothies first and quickly noticed that some of the nutella had spilled on the outside of the cup. Luckily, I was able to clean the cup and my hands up pretty quickly before giving the boys their smoothies. My Hulk Bowl looked so delicious and I couldn’t wait to dive in and try it!

frutta bowls marlton new jersey family friendly dining south jersey family smoothies fruit bowlsI loved that the ingredients in my Hulk Bowl were so fresh! I’ve ordered fresh fruit at various restaurants before only to have them be served and on their way to rotten, so it was very refreshing to enjoy fresh fruit at Frutta Bowls. The combination of the granola with the kale blend and the fruit was so delicious. As a big fan of peanut butter, I loved the swirl of peanut butter on top of the whole bowl. Frutta Bowls sells their bowls in two different sizes – I got the larger size and will say that it was BIG. My bowl could have very easily taken the place of a meal. If you are stopping by for a snack, or have a lighter appetite, you may consider getting the smaller size. The boys also enjoyed their smoothies! They both LOVE Nutella, so I figured they had made the right choice with their 16 oz. Chocolate Explosion Smoothies. Big Dude drank about half of his before he was full and needed a break, but Little Dude only had a few sips before he decided he was done. Even though he’ll eat bananas by themselves, he didn’t seem to like the banana being mixed with chocolate and peanut butter. We ended up bringing their smoothies home and put them in the freezer to make “ice cream” for later on.

If you’re looking for a delicious way to get some fruits and veggies into your kids (or yourself!!), check out Frutta Bowls! We can’t wait to go back and try some of their other flavors. Thank so for having us over, Frutta Bowls!
