An Interview with the Owner of The Faithful Merchant
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
About a year ago, a friend of mine made a post on Facebook asking if anyone wanted an invite to an online party she would be hosting with The Faithful Merchant. I had never heard of the company and, as a fan of social media marketing and small businesses (and, let’s be honest, just shopping in general!), I asked her send me an invite. Once within the event, I saw photos of some of the products and knew that I’d probably be purchasing something since 1. I was loving ev.ery.thing and 2. the pricing was reasonable. Cute necklaces, clothes with words (I’m a fan)… all right up my alley. As a mom, I loved the sweet sayings on the pendants and appreciated that some of the products had faith-based scripture and themes. As a woman, I loved that the fonts, graphics, colors, etc. used were all right on trend. Well, long story short, I ended up purchasing this Boy Mom dolman top from my friend’s party. It arrived at my home quickly and I fell in love with it – it’s soft, fits well, and describes me perfectly in just 2 words.
Cute, right?! Believe me, they have SO MANY amazing pieces available on their website. I wish I had known about The Faithful Merchant earlier, so I am SUPER excited to have the opportunity to let you, my readers, know about this amazing company. I recently had the opportunity to do a little interview with Alyssa, the owner of The Faithful Merchant, but before we get to the interview, here are a few of my current favorites:
C&FB: How did The Faithful Merchant get started? What inspired you to start a small business?
Alyssa: I’ve always been crafty but as a mom of littles, I wanted a way to put meaning behind the time I spent and pieces I created! I designed a few scripture necklaces and started selling to friends and family and then decided to create a Facebook page!
C&FB: How did you come up with the name “The Faithful Merchant”?
Alyssa: My friend actually came up with the name, The Faithful Merchant. It was important to me that people knew that a lot of our products are faith-based. That’s the core of who we are as a small business.
C&FB: How long has The Faithful Merchant been open? What is your vision for the future of The Faithful Merchant?
Alyssa: In 2015, we became an LLC and in 2016, my husband left his full-time job to stay home and run TFM alongside me! We also homeschool our three boys!
My vision for TFM is simple: I just want to inspire women where they’re at in life. I know for me, as a young mom, I needed CONSTANT encouragement – it literally helped get me through the long days.
C&FB: Why clothing and accessories?
Alyssa: I love that people can wear our products for their own inspiration and also inspire others they see throughout their day! Little reminders are so helpful to refocus our thoughts back to what’s important – especially in the midst of chaos we all face daily!
C&FB: What did you do before The Faithful Merchant?
Alyssa: Before The Faithful Merchant, I was busy homeschooling and raising our three boys full-time! I’m still doing the same, just have my husband home to tag-team with! It’s been a great journey so far.
C&FB: What are some of your favorite The Faithful Merchant pieces?
Alyssa: My favorite The Faithful Merchant pieces: The pendant necklaces (specifically ones with a pop of color), our unisex V-neck tee and the terry crews. I also love our totes!
C&FB: How about a fun one – what’s one piece of advice you can give to moms?
Alyssa: One piece of advice…let me think…Give yourself loads of Grace.
Nice, right?! The Faithful Merchant is always adding new products and designs, and can even do *custom* pieces, so be sure to check them out often! Thank you, Alyssa, for taking time out of your busy day to let us get to know you, and The Faithful Merchant, a little better!
