Visit the New Day Family Success Center for a MLK Day of Service event. Who was Martin Luther King Jr? Come and learn about a man who made history. We will read a book and watch a movie about Martin Luther King Jr. We will have crafts to celebrate the day. The kid’s room is open. MLK Day of Service is a community outreach event. The purpose of the event is to provide health and wellness resources and honor our veterans with free care packages, clothing, and other free resources. Refreshments will be served.

Burlington County residents of all ages are invited to visit the Burlington County Library, in Westampton, NJ, between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00pm to participate in a variety of activities to honor and memorialize Martin Luther King Jr. Activities include:

      • food collection
      • animal supplies collection
      • supplies collection for military

Volunteers will be on location to aid in allowing attendees to make cards that will be distributed to local care facility residents and create pet toys that will be distributed to animals in the Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter.

In honor of Martin Luther King day, January 20, 2020, the Holistic Chamber of Commerce Cherry Hill/Mt Laurel Chapter will be collecting Blessing Bags for The Unforgotten Haven. This project focuses on creating “blessing bags” by collecting items to put in bags for the homeless. Please see their website for more information.

Join the Delaware Riverkeeper Network on Monday, January 20, 2020 for a morning of litter clean-up and invasive plants removal in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Trash left in the woods can potentially harm area wildlife both in the woods and in the Edison Creek which flows into the Cooper River. Invasive plants, such as English ivy, wraps around and kills many of the trees in the park.

34th annual Dr. MLK Jr. Scholarship Breakfast and Day of Service

Visit Rowan University to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr with a Day of Service. Following the annual Scholarship Breakfast with guest speaker, Judith Jamison, you are invited to participate through service as we unify our community and Glassboro community. Volunteers will be able to select a volunteer opportunity that interests them during the registration process.
Guests are also welcome to bring donations for The SHOP Food Pantry and Resource Center for students. Pantry items available to students in need include nonperishable food, school supplies, toiletries and hygiene products.

Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight. Student tickets are $10. Pre-register here. All proceeds will support the William H. Myers Scholarship awards. Volunteer only tickets are available.
